Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday (12 June) emphasised developing Mathura-Vrindavan and Kanpur as model cities, integrating cultural preservation with industrial growth to achieve 'Viksit Bharat 2047'.
He reviewed 'Vision 2030' plans for both cities with state government officials and local administrations via video conference, reported Hindustan Times.
Adityanath stated, "The comprehensive development of Mathura and Kanpur would be a step toward realising the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision."
He highlighted that unplanned development and deterioration of the heritage has negatively impacted the Mathura-Vrindavan region over the last 50 years.
The Chief Minister was informed by the officials that 195 projects worth Rs 30,080 crore have been proposed for Mathura-Vrindavan development.
CM Yogi directed that access roads, drinking water, sanitation, and rest areas at religious sites be developed without compromising their sanctity.
He called the planned digital museum, convention centre, and Green Path in Vrindavan a long-term investment.
The CM directed the installation of a Swami Haridas statue at the under-construction Swami Haridas auditorium and the development of a Krishna Lok Park at Jawahar Bagh on a PPP (public-private partnership) model.
He also called for developing the remaining Jawahar Bagh land into a city forest and prioritising approach roads and campus development for Radharani’s Ashtasakhis temples.
For Kanpur, officials presented 61 projects worth over Rs 7,000 crore, including New Kanpur City, Knowledge City, and Medicity.
CM Adityanath ordered the relocation of the central city bus stand, development of theme-based parks, and consolidation of government offices in both cities.
