Goa’s new Zuari Bridge is set to host an Eiffel Tower-inspired observatory tower featuring a panoramic viewing gallery, Zee News reported.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for the project on 23 May.
The project is aimed at transforming the Zuari Bridge into a global tourist landmark.
The Rs 270.07 crore project, inspired by Paris’s Eiffel Tower, the twin towers will feature a revolving restaurant, art gallery, and panoramic viewing decks.
The estimated time to complete the project is five years.
The private concessionaire will construct and operate the facility for 50 years. Each tower, rising 125 metres, will include capsule lifts and two spacious top floors offering scenic views and modern amenities.
According to the Indian Express, Tower-1 on the Madgaon side will include a nightclub, hotel, gym, spa, and luxury suites, while Tower-2 on the Panjim side will house a banquet hall, brewery restaurant, speciality dining, and a viewing gallery. Boat parking and a walkway bridge of 7.5 metres will connect the structures.
Additional features will include parking, ATMs, food courts, and kiosks. The towers will be strategically located between pylons (a tall metal tower that supports heavy electrical wires) on pile cap foundations, ensuring both stability and visibility.
Dilip Buildcon, which built the Zuari Bridge, will execute the project through its subsidiary. The Public Works Department of Goa will oversee the work. Necessary clearances are in place, with a few regulatory approvals pending.
The towers will be built under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model, requiring no government expenditure.
