The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has extended the application window for Round 4 of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods—covering Air Conditioners and LED Lights—till 10 November 2025.

Originally scheduled to close on 14 October 2025, the window—open since 15 September—has been extended following a strong industry response and growing investment appetite under the scheme.

The ministry said this reflects the “growing confidence and momentum” generated in domestic manufacturing of key AC and LED components.

Earlier rounds of the PLI-WG scheme have already attracted substantial investment commitments, enhancing India’s manufacturing capacity and creating employment across the value chain.

Launched in April 2021, the PLI Scheme for White Goods carries a total outlay of Rs 6,238 crore.

It aims to boost local manufacturing, encourage component localisation, and strengthen India’s global competitiveness in the air conditioner and LED lighting sectors.

DPIIT has invited eligible applicants to submit their proposals via the online PLI portal at https://pliwg.dpiit.gov.in under the “White Goods” category by 10 November 2025.

Earlier last month, the ministry said that so far, 83 companies have pledged Rs 10,406 crore under the PLI white goods scheme.

The investments will lead to manufacturing of components of Air Conditioners and LED Lights across the complete value chain including components which are not manufactured in India presently with sufficient quantity.
