The Haryana government has sanctioned infrastructure works worth Rs 523 crore, including the construction of major stormwater drains in Gurugram and urgent repairs on the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal (KMP) expressway.

The decisions were taken at a meeting of the High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini late on Monday (11 August), reported Hindustan Times.

In Gurugram, a Rs 104.95 crore project has been approved to lay 18.32 km of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) stormwater drains.

Around 6 km of this network will be built along NH-48 in Sector 48, with the remaining 10.78 km extending through Sectors 76 to 80.

For road infrastructure, the committee cleared Rs 48 crore for urgent repairs to the 60-km Manesar–Palwal section of the KMP expressway, which, officials noted, “needs immediate repairs.”

The upgrade is expected to improve connectivity and support heavy freight movement across the corridor.

Faridabad will see a Rs 58 crore investment for the construction of a 45 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP) along with a tertiary treatment unit. The facility will boost sanitation, wastewater management, and water recycling in urban areas.

“These infrastructure projects will not only significantly improve basic infrastructure but also promote industrial growth, environmental protection, and public amenities,” CM Saini said in a government statement.
