Haryana Assembly Election Results 2024: Congress' Vinesh Phogat Trailing In Julana, JJP's Dushyant Chautala Struggles In Uchana Kalan

After showing signs of victory in earlier trends, former wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat is trailing in the Julana assembly constituency.

Phogat is up against three strong contenders for the Julana seat in Haryana. BJP's Yogesh Bairagi, a former Army captain and commercial pilot, is known for his rescue efforts during the Chennai floods. He is currently leading in the seat.

Sitting MLA Amarjeet Dhanda of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) is also in the race to retain his seat. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kavita Dalal, a former WWE player, is also competing.

On the other hand, key JJP leader Dushyant Chautala is trailing by more than 8,000 votes from the Uchana Kalan assembly constituency. Congress’ Bijendra Singh is now leading in the seat.

Chautala is the great-grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal. He served as Deputy Chief Minister in Manohar Lal’s cabinet for more than four years.

His decision to join the government was seen as antithetical to JJP’s 2019 election campaign, during which JJP sought votes in the name of opposing Khattar and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Later, BJP ended the alliance, after which JJP joined hands with Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram).
