After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 48 seats in the Haryana assembly election, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said they are analysing the 'unexpected results.'

Congress was predicted to form government in the state with over 50 seats by all exit polls but actually won only 37 seats, falling short of a majority.

Thus, Gandhi called these results 'unexpected' and said, "We will inform the Election Commission (EC) about the complaints coming from many assembly constituencies."

Responding to this, the ECI has agreed to meet a 12-member Congress delegation today at 6 pm to address the party's grievances.

Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, K C Venugopal, Ashok Gehlot, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Pratap Singh Bajwa and Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi are part of this delegation.

While Gandhi is indirectly suggesting election rigging, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini went to Delhi to meet senior BJP leaders like Rajnath Singh and Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Earlier in the morning, Saini met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Then in the afternoon, he met President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, two Independent MLAs Rajesh Joon and Devender Kadyan extended their support to the BJP after meeting the party's Haryana president Mohan Lal Badoli.

Another Independent MLA, Savitri Jindal, who won from Hisar, had joined the BJP earlier this year with his son, Naveen Jindal, who won the Lok Sabha election on the BJP ticket from Kurukshetra.

However, on being denied a ticket, she contested as an Independent. She, too, is most likely to extend support to the BJP as her son remains an active member of the party.

She met Haryana's BJP in charge Dharmendra Pradhan and co-in-charge Biplab Kumar Deb in Delhi today.

"BJP now has a total of 50 MLAs in Haryana... When Savitri Jindal would extend her support to BJP, we will sit in front of the media and share that information as well," Badoli told reporters.
