Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (15 August) announced creation of 75,000 seats in the medical colleges in the next five years.
PM Modi made this announcement while addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 78th Independence Day.
“I do not want to see our students being forced to travel overseas for studies. We want a developed education system so that nobody has to go overseas spending crores of rupees. We want to create a system that people from across the globe, come to India to pursue studies,” said PM Modi.
"In the next five years, 75,000 new seats will be created in medical colleges in India. Viksit Bharat 2047 should also be 'Swasth Bharat' and for this, we have started Rashtriya Poshan Mission," he said.
