Indian Railways is gearing up to roll out three new Vande Bharat Express trains, adding a total of six fresh services to its growing network, the Indian Express reported.

The trains are expected to be launched on 10 August. These trains are faster, more comfortable travel and offer better connectivity across several high-traffic corridors.

The new routes will connect Bengaluru and Belagavi, Ajni (Nagpur) and Pune and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Amritsar.

These trains will push the total number of Vande Bharat services beyond the current count of 144.

Passenger response to the Vande Bharat trains has been overwhelmingly positive. The average occupancy rate in 2024–2025 was over 102 per cent, and as of the first quarter of the current fiscal year, it has already increased to 105 per cent.

Both passenger comfort and speed are priorities in the construction of Vande Bharat trains.

They have high-efficiency air conditioning with UV-C disinfection, automatic doors, smoother couplers, and the KAVACH collision-avoidance system, among other cutting-edge safety features.

Coaches are equipped with fire safety systems, surveillance cameras, and amenities for passengers with impairments.

The trains have two seating classes: Chair Car and Executive Chair Car, and they can operate in 8, 16, or 20-coach formations.

On congested roads, their top speeds of 180 kmph (design) and 160 kmph (operational) greatly reduce travel time.
