In a major breakthrough, Uttar Pradesh's Anti-Terrorism Squad arrested Jaish-e-Mohammed and Tehrikh-e-Taliban Pakistan-linked terrorist from Saharanpur. The terrorist, as reported by ANI, was assigned the task of killing former BJP spokesperson, Nupur Sharma, by JeM.
On Tuesday, UP ATS had also arrested a terrorist with links to Islamic State (ISIS) from Mubarakpur in Azamgarh. As per the official statement, he was identified as Sabauddin Azmi alias Dilawar Khan alias Bairam Khan alias Azar, a member of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). He was planning an IED blast on Independence Day.
The ATS also recovered illegal weapons and cartridges along with materials used in making bombs from his possession. Searches were also conducted at his residence.
