Several locations related to Congress MLA from Jharkhand's Barkagaon, Amba Prasad were raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday (12 March).

The searches at her residence in Ranchi and her relatives' premises in Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh were conducted for various cases related to land and sand scams.

This comes amid speculations of Prasad's candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Hazaribagh after she met former Hazaribagh MP Yashwant Sinha at his residence.

Locations of MLA's close aides Bindu Dangi and Rajendra Sahu were also raided in Hazaribagh, along with searches at Circle Officer Shashi Bhushan Singh's residence at Hawaii Nagar in Ranchi.

Singh was earlier CO in Hazaribagh but on charges of corruption was transferred to Govindpur in Dhanbad. Interestingly, BJP worker Raju Sao's residence at Keredari in Hazaribagh was also searched.

According to ED sources cited by The New Indian Express, ED had registered a complaint against Prasad after reading charge sheets filed against her in different courts.

Prasad's family members are also accused in various land dispute cases. There are allegations that they attempted to capture government land illegally in Hazaribagh.
