Karnataka: Congress Guarantees 4 Monthly Freebies Including 10 Kg Foodgrains, 200 Units Of Power, Rs 2000 To Woman Family Head, Rs 3000 For Graduates

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today (March 20) announced that the party will offer a monthly allowance to unemployed diploma and degree holders in Karnataka under 'Yuva Nidhi' scheme if voted to power in the state.

Under the scheme, diploma holders will get an allowance of Rs1,500 per month for two years, while graduates will receive Rs 3,000 per month.

"We understand the problem of youth in the state and BJP is not giving you jobs." Gandhi said during his address.

He claimed that if Congress is voted to power in the state, it will provide jobs to 10 lakh youth in five years and assured that 2.5 lakh government vacancies would be filled up.

Gandhi was addressing a youth public rally organised in Belagavi city. AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka Congress President D Shivakumar, Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah, national general secretaries K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala participated in the rally.

Congress has already promised three other guarantees to the voters in the state in the run-up to the elections.

Under the Anna Bhagya scheme, each low-income family is promised 10 kilograms of food grains monthly. Under 'Graha Jyoti' promise, every family in the state will be provided 200 units of power for free. Under 'Graha Lakshm'i guarantee, every woman head of the family will get a Rs 2,000 cash incentive.

Gandhi also said that his party further increase the reservation for members of the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe community.
