In a move set to invigorate monsoon tourism, the Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) has launched daily cruise services to the island of Pizhala, nestled within the Kadamakkudy archipelago.
According to The New Indian Express report, the initiative builds on KSINC’s successful cruises to Palaikari (Vaikom) and the Kadamakkudy islands, offering travellers an expanded array of immersive backwater experiences.
The newly introduced Pizhala cruise promises a five to six-hour journey through Kochi’s rain-washed backwaters, with picturesque views of paddy fields, coconut groves, and waterways.
Aboard 100 seater vessels including Sooryamshu, Michelle and Cleopatra, guests will sail from the KSINC ferry terminal near High Court junction, Kochi, towards a private farm on Pizhala Island.
“The all-inclusive package is priced at Rs 999 per person as part of a special monsoon offer,” A Akash, KSINC’s commercial manager was quoted as saying.
“For those seeking a more exclusive experience, KSINC also offers private bookings for a minimum of 50 guests on the same vessels.” he added.
Authentic Kerala cuisine, pedal boating and kayaking, fishing, and other various leisure activities are also part of the package.
