The Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Spain-based Submer Technologies SL to jointly develop up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of next-generation, AI-ready data centre capacity in the state, Times of India reported.

The agreement was formalised at the Invest in Madhya Pradesh Business Forum held in Barcelona, Spain, in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

In a post on X, Yadav stated, “At the Invest in Madhya Pradesh Business Forum held today in Barcelona, the capital of Spain, detailed discussions were held with entrepreneurs on immense potential for investment and trade in Madhya Pradesh, and they were invited to explore opportunities in the state. On this occasion, an MoU was also signed between @MPSeDC\_DST and @submertech.”

He added that it was a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh to have earned the trust of global investors.

He credited this achievement to the state’s stable governance, investor-friendly policies, streamlined procedures, and quick decision-making.

The collaboration aims to build eco-friendly, high-efficiency data centres that significantly cut down on power consumption, water usage, and environmental impact.

As per the MoU, the Madhya Pradesh government will support the initiative with land allocation, regulatory clearances, and incentives.

Submer Technologies, known for its expertise in cooling technology and AI infrastructure, will offer design, certification, and strategic advisory support.

Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, said Madhya Pradesh's vision to lead India’s green digital transition aligns well with Submer's focus on climate-conscious infrastructure.

He added that the MoU marks the start of a strong partnership that will drive local employment, skill development, and innovation, while creating scalable infrastructure suited for the AI era.

A team from Submer Technologies is expected to visit Madhya Pradesh later this month to assess potential sites and meet ecosystem partners.
