Manipur: Security Forces Recover Cache Of Arms And Ammunition In Joint Operation - All About It

In a joint operation between Bishnupur Police, Manipur Commando, and security forces, a cache of arms, ammunition, explosives, and war-like stores was recovered from two different locations in Manipur.

The operation, based on specific intelligence, targeted areas in Kumbi of Bishnupur district and Maphou in Imphal East district.

The recovered items included "one .303 Rifle (modified), one carbine with empty magazine, four Number 36 HE hand grenade with tube launching, one country-made pistol, 10 BP helmet, 19 pairs of shoes, 12 belts, three BP jacket, five P-cap, one bag, two mattresses, dangri and camouflage dress (nine shirts, 17 pants and one jacket) and two carton boxes of medical items," the statement by security agencies revealed.

Furthermore, strict security measures have been implemented to ensure the safe movement of essential items, with 296 vehicles along NH-37 and 187 vehicles along NH-2 being facilitated by security forces.

Additionally, security convoys are deployed in sensitive stretches to guarantee the free and secure passage of vehicles.

The Manipur Police also cautioned the public against believing in rumors and false videos, urging them to verify any circulating information through the rumor-free number provided by the Central Control Room.

An appeal was made for the return of looted arms, ammunition, and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.

"Any circulation of unfounded videos etc. may be confirmed from the Central Control room. Further, an appeal is made to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces Police Control Room Manipur Police immediately," it stated.
