Two days after Asok Das was killed in a suspected mob lynching in Kerala's Muvattupuzha, the police arrested at least 10 people under murder charges, NDTV reported.
The 24-year-old Das was a migrant worker from Arunachal Pradesh and fell into trouble when he allegedly created a ruckus outside the house of a former woman colleague.
Das was living in a rented house in Muvattupuzha's Valakam. On Thursday night, he went near Valakom junction where he was tied to a pole by a mob after allegedly creating a ruckus.
Reports suggest that the mob manhandled and interrogated him by tying him to the pole. While locals deny this, he was found bleeding later and taken to a nearby hospital.
Das was then referred to the Kolencherry Medical College Hospital. He died there on Friday, as per the FIR. His post-mortem reveals death due to blunt force trauma to his head and chest.
10 suspects namely Vijeesh, Aneesh, Sathyan, Sooraj, Kesav, Elias K Paul, Amal, Athul Krishna, Emil and Sanal have been arrested till now. All are natives of Valakam.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
