Exit polls have predicted mixed results for the Jharkhand assembly elections. However, most suggest that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies are likely to secure victory.
Axis My India has predicted that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win 17 to 27 seats, while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress coalition of INDI Alliance will win 49 to 59 seats.
According to Matrize, the NDA is projected to win 42-47 seats, with the INDI Alliance securing 25-30 seats in the 81-member assembly.
Another poll by Peoples Pulse estimates the NDA taking 44-53 seats, while the INDI Alliance could win 25-37 seats. The Times Now-JVC exit poll predicts 40-44 seats for the NDA and 30-40 for the INDI Alliance.
The BJP contested 68 seats in the elections, with its allies All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) fielding candidates in 10 constituencies, Janata Dal (United) in two, and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in one.
On the other hand, the JMM contested 41 seats, Congress 30, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) six, and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) four.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress coalition aims to retain power while the BJP, under the leadership of state president Babulal Marandi wants to return to power after the 2019 loss.
