Union Minister and Nagpur MP Nitin Gadkari has said that he is exploring the idea of constructing an elevated rotary road at the congested Medical Square in Nagpur.
“At Ashok Chowk, we are planning to construct a signal-less square, like a roundabout rotary. Another thing I have in mind is Medical Square. To build an elevated road (rotary) there,” Gadkari was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Addressing the media in Nagpur, he clarified that these projects are in the conceptualisation stage.
Gadkari further said that the design of the existing Liberty Square flyover is faulty and assured that it will be rectified.
The minister stated that a proposal worth Rs 34 crore has already been prepared and sent for clearance.
He added that a new design has been readied for the flyover.
After confirming the file status with an official during the briefing, Gadkari assured, “Work will start soon, and the problem will be solved.”
Providing an update on other infrastructure projects, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that all necessary permissions for the Kadbi Chowk flyover, which connects to Mominpura, have been obtained.
He noted that the delay in execution is due to encroachments in the Mominpura area.
Gadkari added that the project work has been given to MahaRail and emphasised that it will benefit the public.
Speaking about the Pachpaoli flyover from Kamal Talkies, Gadkari said the project will use advanced construction technology from Malaysia.
He added that a large market will be developed at Kamal Chowk to accommodate all vendors.
