Authorities are fast-tracking infrastructure projects to ensure smooth connectivity to Noida International Airport in Jewar, aiming to make it a key transport hub in northern India. Here are the key infrastructure projects underway to connect this highly ambitious airport:

Bhangel Elevated Road

The 5.5 km, six-lane Bhangel Elevated Road, linking Agahpur with the NSEZ on the DSC Road, is nearing completion and is expected to open by July 2025. Initially launched in June 2020 with a budget of Rs 468 crore, the project faced delays due to design changes and funding issues, pushing its cost to Rs 608 crore.

Once operational, it will bypass densely populated villages, easing traffic between Noida and Greater Noida, and support the anticipated increase in traffic from the airport, which is expected to handle 50 lakh passengers annually.

DND–Faridabad–Ballabhgarh Bypass Link Road

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved an additional Rs 48.6 crore for the DND–Faridabad–Ballabhgarh Bypass Link Road, which will connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Jewar Airport. Construction work has commenced, with 66.73 hectares of land acquired and Rs 260 crore disbursed as compensation to farmers.

Elevated Stretch on Greenfield Expressway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has received approval to construct an 8.5 km elevated section as part of the Greenfield Expressway from Faridabad to Jewar Airport. The expressway, spanning 22 km, is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana and aims to enhance road connectivity and drive local economic growth along the Faridabad-Jewar route.

Link to Ganga Expressway

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to construct a 76 km expressway connecting Jewar Airport directly to the Ganga Expressway. With Rs 1,000 crore allocated for this project, the expressway will originate from Bulandshahr and connect to the Yamuna Expressway, facilitating expedited access to the airport for residents of Meerut and Bulandshahr, and benefiting users of the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressways.
