Leaders from the INDI Alliance bloc, including prominent figures like Rahul Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav, are set to attend a rally organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at Ramlila ground in Delhi on 31 March.
Senior AAP leader Gopal Rai said that that the party has secured the permission of the authorities concerned to host the event, which is expected to draw more than 20,000 people.
The rally is being held in wake of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam.
The call on whether Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal will address the ‘Maharally’ will be taken later, he said, news agency PTI reported.
The event will also see participation from other leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), including Derek O'Brien, Trichi Siva, Farooq Abdullah, and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren.
Additionally, Kalpana Soren, the wife of the former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, who is currently in jail, is expected to attend the rally.
