According to party insiders, the Congress leadership is expected to unveil the second segment of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi, in the upcoming new year, news outlets have reported.

The proposed East-West Yatra, stretching from Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat, is being organized as a mixed-mode journey, partially on foot and partially by vehicle, as part of the Congress' mobilization strategy for the Lok Sabha elections. The yatra aims to establish a campaign against the "communal politics" of the BJP, focusing on key issues such as unemployment among the youth.

The planning for the second segment of Yatra is coincidentally occurring following the recent losses of the Congress in three Hindi-heartland states, where Gandhi spearheaded the Congress campaign. Last year, Gandhi initiated the first Bharat Jodo Yayra, walking from Kanyakumari to Srinagar, campaigning against communal polarisation.
