Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale emphasised the importance of Hindu unity and reaffirmed no differences with the BJP during a press conference in Parkhan village, Mathura.

He also voiced his support for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's slogan, 'Batenge to katenge' (Divided we fall), highlighting it as a call for unity.

Hosabale also addressed his relationship with BJP Chief JP Nadda, describing him as a brother from the same ideological family.

Denying speculation of rift with the BJP Chief, Hosabale said that he had food at Nadda's residence post the Lok Sabha polls, after the BJP President's comments ahead of general elections about the party's independence from the Sangh in electoral and other matters.

During the last day of the Sangh's Karyakari Mandal (central executive) meeting in Mathura, Hosabale spoke on several issues, including the need for regulation—not control—of OTT platforms, akin to the film censor board's approach.

Responding to a question about Adityanath's 'Batenge to Katenge' slogan, Hosabale explained the underlying message of Hindu unity and the risks of division based on caste, colour, or creed, emphasising that unity is crucial for any nation.

"What is the spirit of this slogan? The spirit is that Hindu society should remain united. If we will get divided on the basis of caste, colour, creed...then we will be slaughtered. Unity is important for every nation. This (katenge-batenge) is just another way of communicating the same sentiments," Hosabale said, Economic Times reported.

He reiterated this sentiment by quoting lines from an RSS song supporting Adityanath's remarks.

In August this year, speaking at an event in Agra, Adityanath referring to the unrest in Bangladesh said. "Batenge to katenge... Ek rahenge to nek rahenge (Divided we fall... United we stand)."
