Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Monday (16 September) that in the first 100 days of his government’s third term, efforts had been made to address all sectors and factors essential for the country’s rapid development.

"In the first 100 days of our third term, you can witness our priorities, speed, and scale. We have focused on every sector and factor necessary for the country’s rapid progress," the PM said.

Speaking at the 4th edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) in Gandhinagar, Modi said that despite being a developing country, India did not back out from environment commitments.

Highlighting India's energy dependence, Modi said that we have decided to build our future on solar, wind, nuclear and hydro powers. He announced that 'Suryawanshi' Lord Ram's birthplace Ayodhya will be developed as model solar city.

"The work is almost done. Everything in Ayodhya should run using solar energy. We have identified 17 such cities in India that will be developed as solar cities. We will also use agriculture fields for solar-power generation," he added.

Praising Mahatma Gandhi, Modi said, "His life was of minimum carbon footprint. He had said that the earth has enough resources to fulfil our needs but not our greed."

He emphasised India's uniqueness in diversity, scale, capacity, potential, and performance, adding, "This is why I say Indian solutions have global applications."

Modi further asserted that India is laying the groundwork for development that will last the next 1,000 years, aiming not only to reach the top but to maintain its standing.

"For us, a green future and net zero are not just buzzwords; they are essential for the country, and we are fully committed to achieving them," he said mentioned that 140 crore Indians have pledged to make India the world’s third-largest economy.
