Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (22 May) slammed Pakistan for the 22 April terror attack and commended the Indian armed forces for their rapid and decisive response.
Addressing a large gathering during a rally in Rajasthan's Bikaner, PM Modi said that while he appears calm, his resolve for the nation burns fiercely, declaring that what flows through his veins is not just blood, but ‘hot sindoor'.
“Pakistan forgot one thing, now the servant of Mother India, Modi, is standing here with pride. Modi's mind is cold, but his blood is hot. In Modi's veins, not blood, but hot Sindoor flows," said PM Modi, India Today reported.
He said that Pakistan, knowing it cannot win a conventional war against India, has long relied on terrorism—a strategy it adopted soon after independence.
Referring to the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack, he said that terrorists attacked innocent people, asked them about their religion and wiped the sindoor off the foreheads of women.
He added that the bullets fired in Pahalgam that day hurt the hearts of 140 crore Indians.
"Those who set out to wipe off the sindoor have been buried in the soil. Those who shed India’s blood have paid for every drop. Those who thought India would stay silent are now hiding in their homes. And those who took pride in their weapons now lie buried beneath their own rubble," he added.
PM Modi emphasised that the country had vowed to retaliate in an unforgettable manner.
“With the valour of our armed forces, Pakistan was forced to bow. Within just 22 minutes of the attack, terrorist camps were destroyed,” he declared.
PM Modi added that India’s response sent a strong message to its enemies.
Highlighting his government's firm stance on national security, PM Modi said that Indian army was given a free hand.
"All three forces together created such a Chakravyuh (military formation) that Pakistan was forced to kneel down,” he said.
