Uttarakhand will play host to a key pre-summit event ahead of next year’s India–AI Impact Summit 2026, with the state government partnering with the India AI Mission and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to organise the Uttarakhand AI Impact Summit 2025 in Dehradun.

The one-day conference, to be held at Hotel Ramada in Dehradun on Friday (17 October), aims to explore how artificial intelligence can drive sustainable and inclusive growth in India’s hill state.

It will also serve as a curtain-raiser to the main global AI summit scheduled for 19-20 February 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The Uttarakhand AI event will be inaugurated by Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce and Industry, and will be attended by senior officials from MeitY and the Uttarakhand government.

Policy experts, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and academics are expected to take part in discussions on responsible AI governance and digital transformation.

Focus on Responsible and Inclusive AI

The summit will position Uttarakhand as an emerging hub for AI-led innovation, in line with the Digital Uttarakhand initiative.

Sessions will explore the role of artificial intelligence in improving governance, fostering entrepreneurship, and ensuring ethical adoption of emerging technologies.

Startups supported by IIM Kashipur and STPI Dehradun will demonstrate real-world AI applications during the event, while government representatives are expected to outline the state’s AI and IT roadmap.

India’s Expanding AI Leadership

The upcoming India–AI Impact Summit 2026 will mark the first major global AI gathering hosted in the Global South, reflecting India’s growing influence in shaping global technology policy.

The summit, built around three principles—People, Planet, and Progress—will emphasise equitable access to AI resources and responsible use of technology for social good.

The initiative also introduces seven “Chakras” or thematic pillars addressing key global priorities such as AI for economic development, safe and trusted AI, social inclusion, and climate resilience.
