Denouncing "hateful, unrepentant racists" in the Republican Party, Tesla chief Elon Musk has called for their removal amid escalating tensions over the H-1B visa issue.

Musk’s remarks came in response to accusations from an Indian-American Democrat who alleged that the Republican Party treats Indian Americans "differently."

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has voiced his support for legal immigration through H1-B route and addressed the growing divisions within the GOP, aligning himself with allies such as Vivek Ramaswamy.

Indians are the major beneficiaries of the H1-B visas for professionals from other countries to work in the United States.

US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed five Indian-Americans to his cabinet, including Vivek Ramaswamy (leading the Department of Government Efficiency), Kash Patel (director of the FBI), Harmeet Dhillon (assistant attorney general for Civil Rights), Jay Bhattacharya (director of the National Institutes of Health), and the most debated figure, Sriram Krishnan (senior White House policy advisor on Artificial Intelligence).

Krishnan’s appointment in the wake of his position on the green card policy, has drawn criticism from white nationalists, far-right activists and prominent Trump supporters figures, including Laura Loomer and others on social media.

Musk escalated the ongoing feud on Friday night, urging the expulsion of "contemptible fools" within the GOP.

His remarks came in response to a post by Neera Tanden, President Biden’s US Domestic Policy Council director, on the platform X.

Tanden said that Democratic party sees her as American while the Republican party does not.

"I hope Indian Americans remember this moment at the next election. They don’t see you as one of them. And never will,” she said.

“You thought they just hated other immigrants. But it turns out there’s no exception for you. As many of us have been telling you,” Tanden continued.

Replying to Tanden, X user Scott Adams said that Trump-supporting MAGA Republicans are now "copying the Democrats' playbook on how to lose elections while still feeling good about it."

Responding to the post, Musk acknowledged the division with a “Yes.”

He later added, “And those contemptible fools must be removed from the Republican Party, root and stem.”

When questioned by offended users, Musk clarified, “The ‘contemptible fools’ I’m referring to are those in the Republican Party who are hateful, unrepentant racists.”

"They will absolutely be the downfall of the Republican Party if they are not removed," he added.

Later, in response to an X user's post criticising his support for H1-B visas, Musk said, "The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B".

"I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend," he added.
