Targeting all 80 Lok Sabha Seats of Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning caste-wise conventions in December, followed by the proposed Mahakumbh of the Backward Classes in Prayagraj in January.
According to Amar Ujala, this Mahakumbh will see the participation of BJP stalwarts, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a meeting held on Monday at the BJP state headquarters, the leaders of the party's OBC (Other Backward Classes) Morcha discussed strategies to strengthen the party's base.
It was emphasised that the BJP will work to integrate the backward and extremely backward communities into its fold through these initiatives. A meeting with beneficiaries of the Prime Minister's Vishwakarma Yojana was also planned.
The OBC Morcha is also planning to appoint in charges and co-in charges at the district and mandal (block) levels to ensure the success of these programs.
A social media team will also be activated to connect with and engage as many people from the backward communities as possible, with district-level social media workshops scheduled for November.
The OBC Morcha has prepared teams of 500 volunteers from the prominent communities within the Backward Classes in each legislative constituency. The work of training 2 lakh volunteers is in its final phase.
