Former leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and popular poet Kumar Vishwas created a stir on social media on Wednesday (8 November) by claiming that his convoy was attacked in Ghaziabad and security personnel were beaten.
However, shortly after, a wounded doctor came forward and identified himself as the victim, stating that he was beaten up for not giving way. Now, after an initial investigation, Ghaziabad police declared that Kumar Vishwas' allegations are false.
The Ghaziabad police issued a statement on X on Wednesday night, clarifying that there was no attack on Kumar Vishwas' convoy, instead, Pallav Vajpayee arrived at Indirapuram police station shortly after the incident.
Police said that according to Vajpayee, private security personnel beat him up when he was returning from a hospital after a scuffle over a car overtake and now an investigation is ongoing.
The police wrote, "In the incident that came to our attention today, no evidence has been found to substantiate the allegations of an attack on Kumar Vishwas' convoy by an unknown person. The Indirapuram police station is conducting further investigation and taking appropriate action."
After this, Kumar Vishwas issued a clarification and declared that he had no link to this incident as security personnel and Pallav Vajpayee had filed complaints against each other.
