A day after Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal announced INDIA bloc's coordination committee decision to boycott a section of media, INDIA media committee released a list of anchors where the parties will not send their representatives.
The list names 14 journalists including Republic founder Arnab Goswami and Aaj Tak anchors Chitra Tripathi and Sudhir Chaudhary.
Notably, Goswami and Chaudhary have earlier too faced wrath of the opposition. Goswami was jailed in Mumbai when Maha Vikas Aghadi government ruled in Maharashtra. Similarly, with the Congress government in Karnataka now, an FIR has been filed against Choudhary.
Several journalists related to Network 18 group like Aman Chopra, Amish Devgan and Anand Narasimhan also find their names in the list. Aditi Tyagi, Rubika Liaquat and Sushant Sinha are also mentioned.
India Today anchors like Gaurav Sawant and Shiv Aroor, DD News anchor Ashok Shrivastav, Times Now anchor Navika Kumar and India TV anchor Prachi Parashar are also named in the list.
During a press briefing on Wednesday (13 September), Venugopal said, "The coordination committee has empowered the media sub-group to determine the identities of the anchors whose programs will not host any representatives from the INDIA parties."
