Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar's appointment as a minister in the Uttar Pradesh cabinet has been confirmed, according to Live Hindustan.
The decision was made after a meeting of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda in Delhi on Wednesday (1 November).
It is said that the cabinet will be expanded before Diwali, and besides OP Rajbhar, two or three others will also be made ministers. However, no decision has been reached regarding Dara Singh Chauhan.
Chauhan was earlier expected to be inducted into the cabinet after winning the Ghosi by-elections. However, as the BJP lost there, the cabinet expansion was subsequently delayed.
The half-hour-long meeting discussed not only the expansion of the cabinet but also preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. A decision was taken to appoint the in-charge in UP by the end of November will also be made. Along with this, four or five deputy in-charges will also be appointed.
One day earlier, OP Rajbhar himself announced his appointment as a minister. He said that the date of appointment will be announced by 7 November.
