The Principal City Sessions Court today (26 July) extended minister Senthil Balaji's judicial custody till 8 August.

He was produced before the court via video conference from the Puzhal prison, where he is currently lodged after being discharged from the Kauvery Hospital, where he had undergone bypass surgery.

The Supreme Court bench of Justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundresh will again hear the plea of Balaji and his wife Megala challenging the Madras High Court judgement tomorrow (27 July).

The Madras High Court had allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to take Balaji into custody for interrogation.
