Several legislators from Uttar Pradesh visited the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya today (11 February), but notably absent from Lord Ram's entourage was the Samajwadi Party (SP).
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav declined Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's invitation to join the visit to the holy site, according to a report from NDTV.
"We will only go when Lord Shri Ram calls us," stated Yadav in the Uttar Pradesh assembly on Saturday (10 February).
10 luxury buses, carrying cabinet ministers and members of the legislature, departed from Lucknow to Ayodhya at 8 am today. Most legislators, except for Samajwadi leaders, participated in the journey.
After the visit, Adityanath posted on X, "It was my fortune to have Shri Ramlalla's darshan at Shri Ayodhya Dham with UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, UP Legislative Council Chairman Kunwar Manvendra Singh and respected colleagues.
