Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated or laid the foundation for public welfare projects worth Rs 136 crore at the 'Scheduled Caste-Tribe Conference' organised under the aegis of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Western Region in Hapur district on Tuesday (17 October).

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Adityanath claimed that he has paid tributes to the contributions of BR Ambedkar in the true sense. The CM also distributed certificates to the beneficiaries of various schemes.

"Modi established panch-tirthas related to Babasaheb Ambedkar- in Mau, Delhi, London, Kanpur and Mumbai. Modi government also constructed Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi. Our government is also establishing 'Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial and Cultural Center' in Lucknow," Adityanath said.

He informed the gathering that this centre will facilitate higher education and competitive exam scholarships for youths of SC and ST communities and the work is in its final stages.

Making a major announcement for the SC-ST community, the UP CM said, "If an SC-ST person is staying at an unreserved place, double engine government will act to make the same land available to him. If the land is reserved, another land will be provided to them for rehabilitation."

Targeting the Samajwadi Party (SP) government, he said, "We laugh at those who persecuted SC-ST communities but take Babasaheb Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram's name today. Isn't it true that SP stopped scholarships of SC-ST students in 2015-16?"

"Isn't it true that Saharanpur Medical college was renamed by SP? Isn't it true that this SP changed Lucknow's language university's name?", Adityanath said.

Calling the last person of the society as foundation, he said, "Modi has made all schemes keeping in mind women, poor, farmers, vanchit, dalit, moosahar, vanvasis. They are getting rights and respect. They are now part of our system."
