1. 📰 Catch up
Ashok Gehlot agreed to Rahul Gandhi's remark that Sachin Pilot is an "asset", days after calling him a "gaddar" (traitor).
Fumio Kishida said that Japan will raise its defence spending to 2 per cent of its gross domestic product (GDP) by 2027.
RBI announced its plan to launch the first pilot for retail digital rupee (e₹-R) on 1 December, in which four banks will initially participate.
Adani Realty to redevelop Dharavi in seven years at a cost of Rs 5,069 crore.
Singapore Airlines announced that Vistara will be merged with Tata group-owned Air India by March 2024.
2. 👉 👈 Israel and The Kashmir Files
Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid said the jury was "disturbed and shocked" by The Kashmir Files film.
He further said that it "felt like propaganda, vulgar movie", and deemed it “inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival."
He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) where Union Minister Anurag Thakur was present among others.
The reaction: Israel's ambassador to India Naor Gilon slammed Lapid for dissing The Kashmir Files.
Gilon said that Lapid should be ashamed for abusing "in the worst way the Indian invitation to chair the panel of judges at IFFI as well as the trust, respect and warm hospitality they have bestowed on you".
He said it’s insensitive and presumptuous to speak about historic events before deeply studying them and which are an open wound in India because many of the involved are still around and still paying a price.
3. 📘 Latest book release
Rani Durgawati: The Forgotten Life of a Warrior Queen is written by author and journalist Nandini Sen Gupta.
It is a biography based on research, folk tales and songs.
This is author's first book of narrative non-fiction history and was released just yesterday.
Comments: Sanjeev Sanyal said that the author has brought Rani Durgawati "alive in this fast-paced narrative."
Bibek Debroy calls it "an engaging book" which counters selection biases that are often observed in history writing.
The author believes that Rani Durgawati is a forgotten female hero and one of India's most underrated monarchs.
4. 🗣️ Swarajya prediction for Gujarat
Swarajya and others: Swarajya and Zee surveys are in close conformance, with Zee being slightly more optimistic for the BJP at the same vote share.
Times Now and ABP surveys appear to be underestimating the BJP’s vote share (or overestimating the seat tally).
Both the Swarajya and Zee surveys may be marginally underestimating the Congress’ vote shares.
It is difficult to accept the Times Now and ABP forecasts for the AAP as a seat-wise analysis incorporating local dynamics indicates that the AAP can’t do so well without the Congress doing worse than these surveys project, and, without the BJP doing better (especially in terms of seats).
Swarajya's prediction: The BJP’s seat tally could rise sharply if the AAP does cut into Congress votes.
The BJP could register a higher vote share, the probability of it reducing to the 45-46 per cent band is quite low.
The number of Congress wins could reduce in a disproportionate manner to a reduction in its vote share.

5. 👏 UNESCO hails these conservation projects
Three conservation projects from India were hailed at the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
"Award of Merit" to Telangana for the conservation work on Domakonda fort, an 18th century fort in Kamareddy district.
"Award of Excellence" to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, Mumbai.
Distinction of merit to Telangana for the restoration of a 17th century step well inside the Qutb Shahi Tomb Complex in Hyderabad.
These awards are given for the achievement of the private sector and public-private initiatives in successfully conserving or restoring structures, places and properties of heritage value in the region.
There are two categories for recognition: the Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation category and the Awards for New Design in Heritage Contexts category.
UNESCO has been giving these awards since 2000.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
