‘An eye for an eye will make the whole world see’ was his lifelong credo.
Dear reader,
At the age of 83, the founder of Sankara Nethralaya, Dr Dr S.S. Badrinath gracefully concluded his earthly journey today.
His journey from a fledgling career in the US to establishing a not-for-profit eye-care institution in Chennai is a testament to his dedication and humanitarian spirit.
Dr. Badrinath's legacy extends beyond his medical achievements. He was a Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, deeply rooted in his community, always empathetic to the common man's struggles. His work with Sankara Nethralaya, an institution that prioritises care over commercialisation, has been a beacon of hope and service.
Let's celebrate the life of a man who saw beyond himself, making the world a better place, one vision at a time.
