The Karnataka Police have registered a suo motu case against Chakravarty Sulibele, a prominent activist, writer and founder of Yuva Brigade.
This action follows allegations of 'derogatory' statements attributed to Sulibele against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during his recent visit to the taluk.
While participating in the 'Janaganamana Abhiyana' and visiting a temple at Bovivada in Kadavada village within the Karwar taluk, Sulibele engaged with the press.
In his remarks, he contended that Hindus in the state face considerable challenges whenever Siddaramaiah assumes the mantle of power. He drew a comparative narrative suggesting that Muslims experience a heightened sense of security.
Critics of the government argue that the action against Sulibele is an attempt to curb criticism of the Congress government, especially Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Congress supporters, however, suggest that Sulibele's expressions have the potential to sow seeds of discord among communities.
In response to the action taken against him, Sulibele labelled the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government 'Hitler Sarkara' and asked if the government wanted him to share proof to support his criticism of it.
"Another FIR against me for talking to media about the government. I just said Hindus suffer whenever @siddaramaiah comes to power.. what’s wrong in that? Should I provide more evidences to it? Will do it then.. #HitlerSarkara," he said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
