Several female Members of Parliament from the BJP have accused Rahul Gandhi of misogyny and inappropriate behaviour within the Parliament.
They protested against his "flying kiss" gesture as he was exiting the House.
Smriti Irani criticised Gandhi's conduct in the House of Commons, stating, "I object to something. The one who was given the chance to speak before me displayed indecency before leaving. It is only a misogynistic man who can give a flying kiss to a Parliament which seats female members of Parliament."
She added, "Such undignified behavior had never been witnessed before in the country's Parliament."
Rahul Gandhi exited from the Lok Sabha right after initiating a debate on the No Trust Motion, during which he raised questions about the Manipur crisis.
Before Gandhi's departure, Union Minister Smriti Irani accused the opposition of retracting from the debate on Manipur.
She said, “They desire a discussion on Manipur. Our ministers consistently assured that the government is prepared for a debate. It is the Opposition that evaded a discussion on Manipur.”
Earlier, Smriti Irani and Rahul Gandhi had exchanged verbal jabs concerning the Manipur crisis.
The BJP MP had also strongly criticised Gandhi for his statements about Bharat Mata during the debate on the no trust motion.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
