The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (2 November) announced the formation of a Startup Cell. Ananthan Ayyasamy, a former engineering director at Intel and the current vice-president of the state unit's overseas cell has been appointed as the Convenor.
Ananthan had previously organised 'Startup Tenkasi', in which students from all over the country took part.
A statement signed by state president K Annamalai stated that the Startup Cell would "foster innovation and serve as a vital communication bridge for aspiring entrepreneurs" and the initiative "underscores the party's commitment to promoting economic growth and creating opportunities for the talented and innovative minds in the state, ultimately contributing to our State's development and prosperity."
The party also has a number of other cells like the ones for Sports and Skill Development, Spirituality and Temple Development, Central government welfare schemes and Data Management, all of which have helped the BJP strengthen its presence in Tamil Nadu, said the statement.
