Tamil Nadu: CM Stalin Writes To PM Seeking Rs 5060 Crore As Interim Relief For Damage Caused By Cyclone Michaung

According to a press release issued by the state government, Chief Minister MK Stalin has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting an interim relief of Rs 5060 crore for the damage caused by Cyclone Michaung.

The letter would be personally handed over to Prime Minister Modi by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP TR Baalu.

Further, it stated that a survey is being undertaken to assess the total damage and subsequently a detailed report will be prepared to seek additional funds.

In the letter, Chief Minister MK Stalin stated that infrastructure such as roads, bridges and public buildings in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur districts have faced severe damage and lakhs of people had lost their livelihoods.

He also requested the central government to send a team to the state to assess the damage.
