Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer Ankit Tiwari, who was arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) today (1 December) for taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh has been remanded to 15 days judicial custody by a Dindigul court.

The arrest of Tiwari comes days after the state government approached the Madras High Court stating that the ED did not have the power to investigate illegal sand mining in the state and summon District Collectors as part of its probe.
