An Israeli diplomat on Monday (16 October) called out AltNews co-founder and controversial 'fact-checker' Mohammed Zubair for allegedly spreading "fake news" and "hatred" about the Jewish nation.
Israel's consul general in India Kobbi Shoshani took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to call out Zubair and asked him to go to Israel to do 'fact-checking'.
"Mr. Zubair, Stop spreading fake news & hatred about Israel. If you REALLY consider yourself a fact-checker go to Israel," Shoshani wrote on X.
This comes as an American investigative journalist Amy Mek has also alleged that Zubair has been attempting to smear her and other conservatives for exposing Hamas' propaganda.
Following Shoshani's post, several social media users alleged that Zubair was a "fake news" spreader.
"He is a habitual fake news spreader.. sympathizer and whitewasher of terr0rists, j!hadis, ri0ters.. only "fact-checker" whose every fact-checking is fact-checked by others for propaganda.. in all probability, he will use this also in a way to get funds from palestinian backers...(sic)," wrote one user.
Another user posted an earlier post by Elon Musk in which he slammed the fact-checkers for their bias.
"The so-called fact-checkers are huge liars and incredibly biased," Musk had posted in June this year.
