Brexit Means Brexit! Staunch ‘Leave’ Supporter Boris Johnson All Set To Become UK’s Next Prime Minister

The Conservative Party on Tuesday (23 July) elected Boris Johnson as the new leader of his party, as a result of which he would become the next UK Prime Minister, BBC has reported.
Johnson defeated his rival Jeremy Hunt by almost 46,000 votes to be elected the next Conservative party leader. Incumbent Prime Minister Theresa May who resigned earlier this year, is soon expected to pass on the mantle to Johnson.
Johnson, a former journalist, was the mayor of London from 2008 to 2016 and became a staunch Brexit supporter during the UK referendum. Member of the ‘leave’ lobby, Johnson has set 31 October as the deadline to exit Europe in a “do or die” manner, even if it means going for a “no deal Brexit”.
Johnson has been in the public eye for a variety of reasons including getting stuck on a zip line prior to the 2012 London Olympics, taking down a 20-year-old boy while playing rugby and for remarking that Muslim women wearing burqas resemble letter boxes and bank robbers.
