Workers belonging to the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) vandalised a polling booth in Andhra Pradesh just hours after polling began for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls on Thursday (11 April), Times Now has reported.
In the video the TDP workers can be seen clashing with other people present in the booth while a police officer desperately tried to restore order. In the video one can also see the workers breaking chairs and wielding sticks.
It was earlier reported that a Jana Sena leader had smashed an EVM on the ground thus damaging it.
Recorded by the media persons on the spot, Gupta told them that the machine was bogus before he threw it on the floor with enough thrust to break it open.
Gupta who had come to cast his vote at the polling station in Gutti, alleged that he was angry at the polling staff because the names of Assembly and Parliament constituencies were not displayed properly.
He was immediately arrested by the police present on the spot.
