Gautam Gambhir during a rally in Delhi (@GautamGambhir via Twitter)
Irked by the accusations slammed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on former ace cricketer and BJP leader Gautam Gambhir of having distributed pamphlets containing obscene remarks about East Delhi AAP candidate Atishi Marlena, Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and former batsman VVS Laxman came out in support of Gambhir and vouched for him today (10 May), reports Economic Times.
Taking to Twitter, Singh and Laxhman vouched that Gambhir could never talk ill of any woman.
Yesterday, AAP leader Atishi Marlena, Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia made sensational accusations against Gambhir who apart from denying them, called them baseless and also condemned the words written in the said pamphlet.
Over him being painted the culprit without any proofs or investigations, Gambhir yesterday (9 May) sent defamation notices to Marlena, Kejriwal and Sisodia and demanded an immediate withdrawal of each statement made against Gambhir and an apology, in lapse of which legal proceedings would follow.
