Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Tamil Nadu on Wednesday (13 March) was not well received at least by twitter users as #GoBackRahul became the top twitter trend since the morning.
As per website trends24.in which monitors India’s twitter trends, #GoBackRahul reached the top spot on the trending charts at about 10 am and is yet to be dethroned five hours later.
The critics of Rahul Gandhi also brought in a bit of variety by also trending #GoBackPappu which became the third highest trending hashtag at about 12 pm and continued its grip in the top five.
The supports of Rahul Gandhi though were in no mood to be left behind as they began trending #VanakkamRahulGandhi but it has failed to dislodge #GoBackRahulGandhi from the top spot till the publication of the report.
Incidentally, such hashtag wars were also evident when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tamil Nadu to inaugurate a slew of government schemes on 1 March.
At that time #GoBackModi had trended on twitter but people soon noticed that many of the tweets were from Pakistan and nations like UAE, Saudi Arabia.
