According to the Experis IT Employment Outlook Survey, Indian IT companies remain positive about their hiring plans over the next six months and most of the hiring is expected to concentrate around the junior levels, as reported by The Tribune.

Though the report remains bullish about recruitment in the IT industry, it comments on necessary skills required by a candidate to succeed in the job market: “Major hiring is expected to happen for the junior level with a comparatively rigorous selection process with special perks allocated for those with skills like critical thinking and creativity.” It also states that Southern and Western regions expected to see the most robust hiring outlook.

Startups in India are increasingly hiring employees proficient in coding and software development, and they are expected to contribute to the IT employment in the country significantly. We had earlier reported that India added 20 per cent more startups this year and investment in the startup scene rose to a massive $4.3 billion, up 100 per cent from last year.

The survey also spoke about how recruitment practices are changing in response to the volatile business environment, and Human Resource (HR) departments are being compelled to adopt alternative strategies to find the perfect candidates for the jobs.

The report, which concerns the period between October 2018 - March 2019, was based on interviews conducted with 550 IT companies spread across the country.
