‘International Community Believes India, Not Us On Kashmir’, Confesses Pakistani Interior Minister

In another embarrassment for Pakistan’s Imran Khan government, country’s Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah on Wednesday (11 September) said that Islamabad has failed to get support from the international community over its stand on Kashmir issue, reports ANI.
Shah lamented the fact that the international community is not ready to accept Pakistani narrative and said that “ruling elite” of the country, including PM Khan, had destroyed the image of Pakistan.
"People do not believe us... in the international community. We say they (India) impose curfew and are not giving medicines to people of Jammu and Kashmir. People do not believe us but they believe them. The ruling elite has destroyed the country. The ruling elite of this country destroyed the name. People thought we are not a serious nation," Shah said during a talk show on a Pakistani news channel.
On the question of whether Pakistani PM Khan, Benajir Bhutto, Pervez Musharraf and others were part of the ruling elite, Shah said, "Everyone is responsible. Pakistan should now do a soul searching,"
The admission of a Pakistani minister that the ruling Imran Khan government failed to convince the world about its Kashmir narrative comes as another embarrassment for the Pakistan PM.
Earlier on Tuesday (10 September), Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi acknowledged Jammu and Kashmir as an Indian State while speaking to the media after his address at United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva.
“India is trying to give an impression to the world that life has returned to normalcy. If the life has returned to normalcy then, I say, why don’t they allow you - international media, why don’t they allow international organisations, NGOs, civil society organisations to go into the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and see for themselves what the reality is,” Qureshi said.
