Publication house Bloomsbury India which has come under fire for pulling the plug on the book "Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story" was also slammed by social media users for publishing a book glorifying the Shaheen Bagh protests.

The controversial Shaheen Bagh protest which has been termed as Jihad By Other Means was allegedly funded by the radical Islamist organisation Popular Front of India.

The protesters who initially refused to end their agitation despite the ban on large gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic had also heckled a journalist and a lawyer at the protest site in full view of the cameras.

Bloomsbury India meanwhile posted on twitter promoting its book on the protests titled, "Shaheen Bagh: From A Protest To A Movement" written by Ziya Us Salam and Uzma Ausaf, wherein it termed the protests as "glorious" and a "metaphor for resistance".

"The authors take us on this glorious journey of the making of Shaheen Bagh and how it became a metaphor for resistance, spawning a hundred Shaheen Baghs across the country to restore the sanctity of the Constitution, the national flag & the national anthem", wrote Bloomsbury.

This portrayal by Bloomsbury India angered many social media users who were angered at the publication's last minute refusal to publish the book on Delhi Riots.

Bloomsbury India has been facing major flack from top authors like Sanjeev Sanyal and Dr Anand Ranganathan who have announced a boycott of the publisher. Many social media user too posted that they will not be buying books from the publisher in the future.
