The social media team of Uttar Pradesh Police has produced yet another creative advertisement to raise awareness among the public.

Just a day after it had published a creative video to spread the message of road safety using scenes from iconic movie ‘Sholay’, it has now come up with a new creative to spread awareness about respecting the consent of women.

The video shared by UP Police twitter handle includes a song from 90s hit movie Darr ‘tu ha kar ya na kar tu hai meri Kiran’. Then the video asks the users “Kiran ki na ka matlab?’ (the no from Kiran means?). The answer is also given in the video using another iconic dialogue from the movie Pink, where Amitabh Bachchan says ‘No means No’.

The intent from UP Police is to make it clear that the consent of women matters and when a woman says no to advances from a man, he should stop pursuing her rather than following the ill advice propagated by several movies ‘na me bhi haan hai’ (there is acceptance even in denial).

Just days ago, UP Police had posted a unique and entertaining video on their official twitter handle to raise awareness among the junta, using scenes from iconic 1975 movie ‘Sholay’.

The video shared by UP Police included edited clips from the said movie with a caption reading “Gabbar ko mili kis baat ki saza? (Why was Gabbar punished?)” to discourage people from spitting in public.
