The Uttar Pradesh Police on Wednesday (20 January) posted a unique and entertaining video on their official twitter handle to raise awareness among the junta, using scenes from iconic 1975 movie ‘Sholay’.
The video shared by UP Police included edited clips from the said movie with a caption reading “Gabbar ko mili kis baat ki saza? (Why was Gabbar punished?)” to discourage people from spitting in public.

In the video, the infamous, albeit iconic, villain Gabbar (played by late actor Amjad Khan) spits in the open. Afterwards, he is seen being chased by film's protagonist 'Thakur' (played by late actor Sanjeev Kumar) who then catches him and puts him in a choke-hold.
At the end of the video, a message from UP Police appears which says, "Spitting in public places can increase the risk of spread of COVID-19 and it is a punishable offence".
The video has already been liked over 17,000 times with over 3,300 retweets at the time of writing this piece and the effort by UP Police is being highly praised on the social media platforms.
