Tata Sky has revealed that its subscribers would need to pay a monthly network capacity fee (NCF) of Rs 153 for every secondary connection they install, Times Now has reported.
This means that customers have to pay Rs 153 per month as fixed cost for every extra secondary Tata Sky set top, without any discount. This price is said to be higher than market competition as other DTH providers are reportedly charging just Rs 80 on an average as NCF charges for secondary connections.
This comes after the DTH operator had announced that it was discontinuing its Multi-TV plans under which subscribers with more than one connection were able to get a discount on the NCF fee for secondary connections.
Tata Sky had instead offered more freedom in choosing channels for the secondary connections thus allowing users to select their own channels as opposed to the previous practice of being forced to avail the same plan which was active on primary connections.
